A petrified carcass of a man who died in Pompeii
To the left of you is a petrified carcass of a man who died in Pompeii. Pompeii was a nice, peaceful little town who happened to live by a volcano. That volcano was Mount Vesuvius which killed most of the city. When Mount Vesuvius erupted, it spewed poisonous gas and ash. There was some sort of chemical reaction that caused the ash that covered the people become solid as a rock. A man named Pliny found a way out of the city and saved hundreds. But still, thousands where encased in ash, and died. This was the biggest tragedy of Rome.
